Role: Visual Design Team Lead
Pomelo is a fashion e-commerce company based in Bangkok, Thailand. Started in 2013, it is now a leading online fast fashion brand in Southeast Asia, growing 200%+ every year since its founding. It currently ships to 46 countries globally and is currently expanding to offline presence with its omni-channel experience strategy.
As the Visual Design Team Lead, I hired and managed visual designers who created all brand visuals for various platforms (website, app, social media, email marketing) and assisted the Art Director with the brand’s creative direction. I also worked on UI/UX designs for the Pomelo website and iOS application.
The challenge in this role was to create the Pomelo visual brand image from scratch, as well as educate Southeast Asian customers on how to shop online. The design decisions had to be made to serve users who had very little technological knowledge, resulting in very simple and intuitive UI/UX flows, but still project a clear and consistent brand image to the customers.
